Daily Friction #111

The weekend only started and we are already boasting with information. Find what are the hidden categories of Google Video, read about and meet people who own and mod Ford Mustangs, discover the new FAST internet protocol, learn about Cisco routers exploits, how your computer is being hijacked and the Galileo satellite hacking, and much much more.

Software and Services

  • Exploring Google Video - Publishers have the option to select 38 different genres they’d like to categorize their video in. Google Video’s website only lists 7 types: Comedy, Music videos, Movies, Sports, Animation, TV shows, Google Picks. You can still order by genre using a special search.

Hardware

  • Modded Mustangs is a lively community and an excellent information source for Ford Mustang owners and modderes. In between it’s technical articles, featured rides, how-to’s and forums you can find it all here.
  • Exploiting Cisco Routers - This is an old yet important review of some of Cisco’s out of the box and other exploits you need to handle while hardening the router.

Information

Web Development

  • Multi Column layout in CSS - The W3C’s CSS working group recently released a draft of a new multi column layout module–to be included (with possible modifications) into the CSS 3 specs. For those web developers that have been lamenting the lack of adequate multi column support in current supported versions of the CSS specs, this is an exiting addition.
  • Taking Control Over Depth Of Field with Photoshop.

By writing about and linking to the articles/products/software on this page I do not endorse or testify to the reliability of them in any way or form.
