TechMount

Here’s comes the first of what is going to be a tradition here at TechMount. All the small bits and pieces which do not worth a full post will be packed in a daily post. This will include things that happened in the blogsphere, interesting applications, knowledge pieces or anything I find interesting or amusing. Enjoy

Blogsphere

• Feed Shark is a site that allows you to submit your RSS feed to various online services from one handy Web interface.
• Jesse Ruderman switched from Movable Type to WordPress. Good move on his part.
• Mark Pilgrim has recently released a script for GreaseMonkey, the Firefox plug-in for editing web content a la autolink. The script removes everything but links on sites published by Robert Scoble. Pilgrim also released a new open source beloved butler that does to Google what it wants autolink to do to the rest of the Web.

Software

• BlogBridge is a new GPL’d RSS reader that appears to feature some sort of algorithm for finding interesting posts and helping you find new feeds that you might like. Still in beta but looks interesting.
• CivicSpace is a community organizing process and software platform. It has a flexible CMS capable of running all kinds of websites, a top tier blogging tool, discussion forums, file storage, polls and surveys, photo galleries and social networking.
• Merriam-Webster wants you using their website with Firefox, so they’ve given you five different ways to integrate the two.

Knowledge

• Tom Archer explains the basics of regular expressions in the article: Understanding Basic Regular Expressions Patterns. If you don’t know this, it’s a good time to start.
• If you’re having a hard time grasping RSS, the RSS Cookbook might come in handy.
