PSP release date in Europe
Just a few hours ago I discussed with a friend the expected March 24 PSP release date, and now I received the latest bad news for it’s European would-be fans. Seems like the PSP will not come out in Europe until sometime in the second quarter of this year because of “chip shortages.” Sony spokesperson Kenichi Fukunaga confirmed in an interview that the company simply doesn’t have the manufacturing capacity to make enough PlayStation Portables. Being the smaller market, Europe is almost always the last priority for this kind of devices.

Very disappointing news, but according to www.gameplay.com…
The price shown is only an indication and ordering with us secures your place in the allocation queue for the hardware unit only. The Pre Order price is subject to change and if it goes down… more info »
Released: 20/05/2005
Email me if release date changes
Gameplay Price £179.99
So the new release date from them would be 20/5/05 which is good, but then the price stinks ! I can get an import for less than that now !! and all the games are retailing at 39.99 according to their site… again cheaper online via import

in my opinion sony is in a postion where they can publish the psp in europe but chose not to. instead they make us stare at the television all day waiting to hear something, they should at least give us a date that is fair and not a date that is changed every month.

I think it sucks that America got them first! All I can do now is just look at pictures and videos of the PSP and wonder what it’s like to have one. I could get one from lik-sang.com, but then no-one else would have one, and it would also suck.
THE OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE IS 01/09/05 (September 1st)
